I create naked performance art as a form of artistic healing to take back my power after experiences of gender-based violence. Through exposing my body on my own terms, I transform past vulnerability into intentional authorship.
My art is a love letter to the transgender woman I was a decade ago, who was struggling and uncovering, and to any person who finds themself moving through life’s transitions.
My films explore themes of social isolation and loneliness, patriarchal violence and feminine power, and the erosion of the human condition under capitalism.
Midnight Skylar is a passion project, and a portion of proceeds from my work are donated to advocacy to decriminalize sex work and mutual aid funds supporting sex workers.
